Finally Day two is ready to be published. I know quite few readers were waiting for it. The surprise we have promised about that our tutorial from Day 3 on will include videos of the steps we used in the installation and configuration. We are sorry that the video quality is not too high & does not include sound, but that is how much efforts our team is able to handle at the moment. We are considering to release a new set of video & re-clean up the whole tutorial after finishing it. So stay tuned.
Today we will cover IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Packaging Contents & requirements to prepare you for the TSM installation in Day 3 . We will start by discussing the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Packaging Contents, as its the first thing you will see when you receive your TSM Package. After that today we will cover the requirement for each component of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, as meeting the requirements before starting the installation will save you the hassle of trying to install TSM on a setup which does not meet the requirements. After helping you find out about the requirements of the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, we will show you how to install IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in Day 3.
When you complete this chapter, you will be ready to learn how to install IBM Tivoli Storage Manager which is covered by Chapter 3. I am sure you have been waiting for the fun part where you get your hand dirty. Day 3 is where you start getting your hand dirty, but please don’t skip day 2 as its very important to understand your TSM package contents & system requirements before you start the installation.
For Today We will Cover three Sections:
First Section: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager 5.5 Packaging Contents:
Second Section: System Requirements & Supported Platforms for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
Please come back for day 3, which will include the full installation videos & explanation. It will be uploaded soon
